Start with the excavation

Keep the mess in the tray and the discoveries in view.

Place the rectangular block in its cardboard tray before tapping. The raised crystal shape gives your child a clear place to begin, while the brush helps reveal edges before a specimen is pulled free.

After the excavation, open the crystal-growing materials with your child. Measure and mix according to the guide, place the seed crystal, and leave the setup where it will not be bumped or handled.
