Each planet is its own excavation block. Your child can finish one in a sitting, share the blocks with friends or siblings, or work through the set over several days.

Open one planet without rushing the hidden pieces.

Remove the outer material a little at a time instead of splitting the block all at once.
Clear loose material before lifting a piece from the block.
Place the uncovered pieces beside the poster and learning card, then compare names and features.

A second activity
